Our Committees
OACUSA committees support its mission of improving campus safety across Ontario. Committees allow members from different institutions to focus on specific priorities—such as professional development, conference planning, standards, and information sharing. This shared structure spreads the workload, strengthens collaboration, and ensures that important initiatives continue year-round while giving members meaningful opportunities to contribute and lead.
The Emergency Management Committee supports collaboration and best practices for campus emergency planning, response, and recovery. It shares tools, training, and real-world lessons to strengthen preparedness and resilience across all member institutions.

Awards Committee
The Awards Committee recognizes outstanding contributions to campus safety and leadership within OACUSA. It reviews nominations, selects recipients, and promotes excellence, innovation, and professional achievement across member institutions.
The Nominations Committee reviews and recommends candidates for OACUSA awards, ensuring a fair and transparent process. It highlights members who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and contributions to campus safety.
Nomination Committee
The Audit Committee ensures financial integrity, transparency, and accountability. It reviews financial reports, and processes, providing oversight that supports responsible stewardship of OACUSA’s resources and long-term stability as per OACUSA By-laws.

The Accreditation Committee establishes and maintains professional opportunities for campus safety services. It develops assessment frameworks, supports institutions through the accreditation process, and promotes consistent, high-quality service delivery.
