President's Welcome
Greetings OACUSA members!
I am looking forward to re-connecting with everyone again at our Annual OACUSA Conference at The Village at Blue Mountain in Collingwood in May. It has been a long two (2) years where we have endured the changes and the restrictions that COVID-19 has thrust upon us and our institutions…and our personal lives. We need some time away from work to recharge and since travel and vacations have been limited greatly due to the pandemic, the venue and timing for our conference couldn’t be better!
The theme of our conference is “HINDSIGHT 2020 in 2022” and what an opportunity that this gathering will be for us – connecting, information sharing, learning, networking…and just pressing pause to reflect and reset with colleagues in a picturesque retreat venue. The conference organizing committee from Georgian College and Durham College have been working diligently to develop a conference agenda that is full of exciting educational workshops and sessions and they have also invited some sponsors and suppliers to share their wares with us. Please check out all of the conference details below.
Please join me and your peers on May 17th to 20th, 2022 – and take advantage of the venue to book a couple of extra personal days at the end of the conference to enjoy all that Collingwood has to offer. Together, we secure Ontario’s campuses…as a membership, it is important for us all to meet and share our collective knowledge and to learn from others. OACUSA – The Ontario Association of College and University Security Administrators is the voice and trusted advisor for the post-secondary public safety profession in Ontario through engagement, advocacy, partnerships, and professional standards. I will see you in Collingwood in May 2022!
