Who is responsible for addressing complaints under the sexual violence policy?
Intake:
Investigations:
Is the investigation procedure part of the Student Code or separate?
Who makes decisions on outcomes/penalties?
What information is the decision maker provided to base their decision on (case note, summaries, etc.)
Has anyone developed a “standard” set guidelines when assessing penalties for such cases or is each case dealt with individually?
If a standard has been developed, can this be shared?
If the case occurred off campus and the survivor has been found to have not given consent, what penalties do you typically assess?
Does anyone outsource investigations to a third party?
What training have your investigators received?
If a student appeals the decision (either the survivor or the respondent), who hears the appeal?
Is the appeal process part of the student code or separate? If separate, can you please provide a copy?
Again, thanks to all who respond. Your quick but thorough response is greatly appreciated.
