Under the general supervision of the Manager, the incumbent provides fire prevention and protection services as well as administrative support, configuration and data management of the integrated access control/security systems at Campus Safety and Security.
The incumbent assists with the development and revision of fire safety and security practices, procedures, codes and standards. For new buildings and renovations, assists in the review of plans for code compliance and deficiencies. For existing buildings, conducts fire safety audits, reviews and maintains fire safety plans, detailed documentation for fire alarm testing, maintenance and corrective action. Develops fire prevention promotional material and delivers presentations on fire safety to departments. Advises users on effective ways of complying with applicable legislation while meeting user needs.
The incumbent is responsible for configuring security access control for users (e.g. Card access, access levels, door access during specific times), and setting up parameters for arming and disarming monitoring equipment (e.g. alarms and cameras); ensuring the integrity and security of data collected used to investigate incidents, entering collected data accurately and in correct sequence, updating information, and defining information required to generate customized reports; developing/configuring access levels required, and ensuring information is inputted into the system correctly.
